Coffees

We are fortunate to live in a town where a lot of excellent espresso is available. That said, we have tried a lot of different coffees and believe that Stumptown Coffee Roasters is the best in the region.

Stumptown Roasters is a local Portland company whose priority has always been to provide the best coffee possible. Stumptown is at the forefront of relationship coffee, cultivating strong, equitable relationships with their growers.

Many of Stumptown's coffees are certified Fair Trade and/or certified organic coffees. Even for many of their coffees that are not certified, Stumptown pays premium prices for the highest quality beans from plantations that provide their laborers with higher wages and a better work environment.  Stumptown

Coffee Plant is happy to be among the distinguished cafes of Eric Shrepel's espressomap.com. Check it out before you travel again.

Bottom Line

The bottom line is that you can enjoy some of the best coffee and espresso in the world at Coffee Plant and feel good on every level. Coffees history may be dark, colored by exploitation of native cultures and environmental degradation. However, current trends toward Fair Trade and better environmental stewardship are pushing the business in a more positive direction. We believe that we have found the future of coffee in Stumptown and we are confident that you'll agree.

What we're serving

New crops are in! We are now enjoying some excellent new coffees from Central America and new Africans are coming in too.  New coffees from Ethiopia have been released and are sure to offer universal appeal.  CCP is now serving Nicaragua Grupo el Eden, a culmination of the amazing Canales family's microlots.

House Coffee

Coffee Plant offers an excellent sampling of Stumptown's fantastic array of coffees from around the world. Our House Coffee, the Colombia Asokwici, is available daily downtown along with a featured microlot coffee.  We regularly offer the House Decaf, and Hair Bender Espresso. In addition, we stock a variety of featured coffees, including Costa Rican microlots,  new Ethiopian and Colombian crops, and Sumatra Gayo Mountain (organic/fair trade).

French Press

Coffee Plant has always had French Presses available to coffeeshop patrons, and we continue to offering coffee brewed in this method 'to go' in both of our locations. Each day, we will be brewing one of our coffees in this fashion, available by the cup.
